A while back I attended a really great author panel at a book festival with author/illustrators Betty C. Tang and Katy Farina, both of whom, interestingly, were animators before writing books for children. Betty’s book Parachutes was a 2023 National Book Award longlist selection. Katy Farina is adapting the Baby-Sitters Little Sister books, which are so popular in my school library that I barely ever have them on the shelf.
